Storage: Store in airtight container in cool, dry place. Red rice has natural oils in bran — add 2-3 dry red chilies or neem leaves to prevent insects. Do not refrigerate. Wash 3-4 times before cooking to remove excess starch.
Note: Natural variation in grain color from deep red to light brown. Takes longer to cook than white rice. Soak 4-6 hours or overnight for softer texture. Cooking water may turn pinkish-red — that’s natural anthocyanins, don’t discard. Weight may reduce 1-2% due to moisture loss.
